Icecore quality control. TECs performance and acceptance test
ALL of manufactured TECs pass full monitoring and testing after each batch production including:
Direct TEC parameter testing
1. Elecrical parameters check up - AC resistance, Rac
2. Figure of merit, Z
3. Max temperature diffrence, DT max
4. Polarity testing
Visual Inspection
Full batch visual inspection together with direct parameters testing allows to define and reject all defective TEC in each batch.
Selective control - 10% of each batch but not less 10 pcs.
Geometry dimensions control
random tests gives the basis for the acceptance of the batch. If at least one tested sample does not meet TEC documentation, the entire batch is subjected to full verification, and all TECs that do not meet the requirements are rejected.
Temperature cycling test/Climate shock test
The temperature cycling test is conducted using the temperature shock chamber -40°C for the cold zone and +85°C for hot zone. Each batch endures 50 cycles not less 10 min each. This test indicates TEC endurance to temperature cycling.
High temperature storage 125C (accelerated aging test)
The purpose of this test is to determine the durability of the TEC at elevated ambient temperatures. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can be a trigger for accelerated aging of module elements in the event of assembly or component defects. The module is placed in a chamber at a temperature of +125°C for 100 hours. After the tests are completed, repeated measurements of the module properties are performed and compared with the measurements before the tests.
TEC failure criteria for selective control
The recommended failure criteria for reliability tests, based on both the GR- 468-CORE recommendations and TEC operational experience, are as follows:
Change in the TEC's resistance to alternating current Rac by 5% or more;
Change in TEC efficiency Z by 5% or more;
Deviation of the TEC operating parameters from the established tolerances.
